Online Casino Industry Hurts Cable TV
A newspaper article in Israel over the weekend reported that one of the major cable TV companies was in financial trouble and that it was due to lower percentage of TV viewers in recent months. This article comes after another article published a few months ago in which it stated that Israelis are very into online casino gambling and that per capita, Israelis visit and bet on online casino sites more than Americans and British. Could it be that this cable TV company is suffering from fewer TV viewers because of online casino sites?

Online casino gambling is certainly a relaxing and entertaining pastime. With its increasing popularity it could be understood that some people would prefer to play at an online casino than watch TV and fight with their spouse / partner / child for the remote control. When a person is playing at an online casino, they generally do not have interference from other people in the household and they can be the one to select their pace, choice of games and length of play session.

Online casino sites might be a novelty and for that reason they may be taking away viewers from the cable TV sites, but ultimately both markets will find their niches and presumably the online casino gambling pastime will not take too many customers away from TV viewers.
