What Scares Americans about the Online Casino Industry?
Have you ever stopped to think what it is that irks the anti-gambling lobby in the United States about the online casino industry? All we seem to hear about are the different regulations being proposed to put a stop to online casino gambling once and for all. Politicians work diligently around the clock to gain support for their proposals and religious groups spread the gospel about the evils of gambling. But what scares these politicians, religious groups and private and public companies about the online casino industry so much that makes their call for prohibition is so passionate and vocal?

The argument put forth by the anti-gambling lobby is that the online casino industry can cause a breakdown of all familial and societal values that Americans take so much pride in. They claim that online casino gambling can lure underage and problem gamblers due to its easy accessibility. In addition, the anti-gambling lobbyers claim that just by its very nature, the online casino industry cannot be controlled due to the vastness of the internet.

Although these fears might seem quite justifiable, the very way in which the anti-gambling lobby is going about dealing with the online casino industry is not. It is time to stop taking the proverbial ostrich-head-in-the-sand approach and realize that the online casino industry is not going anywhere. Regulation of the industry is the only answer to keeping it under control.
