Jersey Gets Serious about Online Casino Gambling
The Channel Islands are a popular base for many offshore online casino companies. Online casino companies operate out of islands such as Alderney, which issues gambling licenses. In fact, online casino gambling companies are so impressed with the set up in Alderney, that they are prepared to fork out 75,000 GB Pounds for a gambling license to operate online casino operations.

Other online casino companies have been using the island of Jersey for tax benefits until recently. However, Jersey has decided to take the online casino gambling industry a little more seriously and has announced its intentions to start issuing gambling licenses to companies that operate from its shores. The Jersey government is keen to join Alderney and other Channel islands and benefit from the growing success of the online casino industry.

Many online casinos have been eyeing Jersey as a potential place to base their businesses, however they have been put off until now by the lack of regulatory framework. All this is about to change, however, because the Jersey government plans to set up a three-member government commission to iron out all the legal and administration issues surrounding online casino gambling on the island.
