Air guitar isn’t often thought of as a talent, sport, or pastime, but Golden Palace, a leading gambling company online found a way to show the world what it means to play air guitar. In the northern Finnish city of Oulu this past weekend, the Air Guitar Championships, which were hosted and sponsored by the gambling company, was the 11th annual championship and drew a wildly enthusiastic crowd of fans and general passersby. Participants came from all around the globe to go head-to-head at the biggest rock club in Finland for the right to be called the best air guitarist in the world.
It seems that Japan was the leading country in this gambling sponsored contest. Several countries including the Netherlands, Austria, Italy, France and Germany were represented but it was Ochi ‘Dainoji’ Yosuke from Japan that won. He blew the crowd away with his rendition of Jet’s ‘Are you gonna be my girl?’ When asked in an interview what it takes to be the world champion of air guitar, Yosuke coolly replied ‘Japanese Samurai soul’. It seems that this gambling company was able to find the best of the best in this unique and special field of sport.
As always, Golden Palace knows how to bring the zany and outlandish to the people of the world by putting its name behind these incredible competitions.
