South Korean Police Takes Down Online Casino Ring
After the shock that held South Korea following North Korea's nuclear testing a few weeks ago, the South Korea's authorities found the time to handle a different issue, online casino gambling. The South Korean police raided an illegal online casino network that was working in the country, as reported by Reuters. The policemen actually destroyed hard drives and computer equipment, and took the online casino ring out of action. The raid took place in the southern city of Uslan, and 670 computers were seized and destroyed.

Internet cafés in South Korea are highly popular among the youth in the country, and are used as a source for online casino action to take place. South Korea is wired, and many people have access to online casino gambling from their own homes, although the public solution still appeals to most young people. The online casino market in Asian countries is growing in rapid speed, and South Korea is no different. With Internet becoming more popular, there are more people playing at internet gambling sites, than before.

The online casino industry in South Asia is facing many challenges these days. Many governments do not approve of online casino gambling to take place in their countries, while land-based casinos still pose a major threat to online business. It will take time until the gambling public in these areas understand the potential of online casino gambling, and will act accordingly. As time progress, governments will learn how to regulate the industry and such raids will become less frequent.
