Recent Poll Shows Greater Support for Online Casino Industry
A new poll released by "Rasmussen Reports" in the last days reveals that more than half of the Americans, 52 percent to be exact, think that the online casino industry should be tighter regulated than it is today. The poll was carried out just weeks after the legislation of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, and following the increasing interest of the public with regard to the online casino issue.

Another interesting result from the poll can be found in the fact that, although 40% of the people think that online casino gambling should be made illegal in the US, 41% think exactly the opposite. The result is even more interesting when taking into account the fact that only 3% of the surveyed said they have gambled on the Internet. When comparing it to the 71 percent who admits buying lottery tickets, which are often run by the state itself, or to the 34 percent who have participated in sports betting, it is clear that a wider exposure of the online casino industry may dramatically raise the overall support.

According to the poll, men are only slightly more likely to play in online casino web sites or buy a lottery ticket, but when it comes to sports betting the men are far more dominant. When trying to involve politics into the poll, pretty clear results pop up. While in the Republicans side 47% said online casino sites should be made illegal and only 33% thought the opposite, among Democrats there's a tie – 41% on each side.
