Airline to Offer Online Casino Entertainment |
| Some people dread taking long flights not because they have fear of heights, but because they are afraid that they’ll go nuts with boredom. Ryanair Airline Company is working to provide passengers with the ability to play online casino games as part of its in-flight entertainment offerings. The company plans to unveil the new online casinos service within the next 12 to 18 months. The company also plans to have a working online casino payment system in place that would allow it to charge a passenger's credit card before the plane reaches its destination. Passengers aboard the flights will be able to engage in online casino gambling using mobile phones provided by the airline company. In order to bring its vision to fruition, Ryanair is looking to join forces with several online casino operators. The company is hoping to being testing their new product by the summer of 2006. Ryanair executives estimate that even if only 25 - 30% of the passengers will in fact use the service, it will still be considered as a successes, since it will surly generate millions of dollars in revenues. For the time being, other services offered by the airline, such as in-flight sales, travel insurance, and hotels accumulate to 20% of the profits. By incorporating this new form of online casino entertainment the company is hoping to build on the successful model that has proven to be extremely lucrative for the online gambling industry. |
