Antigua to Continue Online Casino Development
The USA is putting pressure on Antigua to halt online casino development. Currently, the US has still not changed the outdated 1961 Wire Act, which under current translation, makes the online casino illegal. Antigua, however, is going against these wishes and is pushing to expand its online casino industry. This is not at all surprising considering that current profit margins are in the billions of dollars. And though the US chooses not to benefit from this ever growing industry, Antigua will continue increasing its potential tax intakes.

There are presently 14 online casinos which are based on this Caribbean island. And the country has now given online casino licensing to 10 additional firms, which will begin operating early next year. With a total of 24 casinos and the definite likelihood for more license distribution in the upcoming years, Antigua is quickly becoming one of the biggest hubs for the online casino industry.

Antigua promises that these businesses will be controlled under the strictest regulations, thereby allowing customers to feel safe when playing at the online casino of their choice. Antigua argues that US laws are contrary to global trade rules. While Northern America believes that these sites violate state laws, which prohibit gambling. Regardless of these beliefs the majority of online casino gamblers hail from the 50 United States. In the meantime, the Caribbean and other countries that have legalized internet gambling are only benefiting from lack of legislation changes.
