Online Casino Domain Name Auction
It seems that the US government is staying adamantly against the online casino industry. This at least the assumption made by many due to the fact that the US Gaming Exchange is auctioning of over 1600 online casino domain names. This package of domain names are being auctioned over eBay with a starting bid of $150,000. The online casino names are some of the best available as they are all .com extensions and contain the top online casino keywords.

It seems bizarre that the Gaming Exchange is selling off these domain names as, assuming that the US government ever decides to legalize online casinos, US-based online casinos could hit it big with these site names. The online casino industry is worth over $11 billion and is speculated to increase profits substantially over the next 5 years. Why then would the US auction over 1600 top domain names to the highest bidder? They are enabling other countries to reap the tax benefits that the online casino brings.

The online casino has been an ongoing battle with in the US. A few state governments believe that legalization with in their state would bring in substantial tax dollars, which would benefit their residents. It seems pointless that in states such as Nevada and New Jersey, where land-based gambling is legal, that the online casino would be kept on hold. There is little risk involved in the online casino industry, and the majority of players already come from the US. Keeping these .com domain names with in the US seems to be the smartest idea, but sadly the US government does not agree.
