Charity from the Online Casino Industry |
| It seems that the online casino industry is trying to make a name for itself outside of the gambling world by helping out those who need it most. Many online casino sites have started using some of their revenues and names to help charities and the less fortunate around the world. Although some people may consider this to be a business ploy or a way to receive a tax break, I have to ask if it really matters why these online casinos are helping out. In essence, does it really change the fact that these business are helping out African children who need clothes and food? There is no reason why these online casinos should be getting any negative publicity for partaking in charitable donations. If anything, we should praise the online casino industry for making their efforts publicly known as it helps bring in more money to keep helping the less fortunate all over the world. One online casino recently put up a celebrity signed poker table on eBay. This table has signatures from over 50 celebs who attended the Radio City Music Awards; including such big names as Snoop and the Backstreet Boys. The online casino proceeds from the celebrity poker table auction will be donated to the "Make a Wish" Foundation. This organizations helps bring a smile to terminally ill children all over the world, and regardless of the tax cuts the online casino earns, they are still helping to make at least one sick child happy for a day. Another online casino is helping to build a school in an impoverished African nation. With so many people in need in Africa it is nice to know that at least some children will have the ability to be educated properly. It is obvious that the online casino reaps some benefits from their donations, but then again, so are many others. |
