eBay has become an integral part of the online casino industry in the US. Although online casinos can not be operated legally with in the US, online casino operators have managed to bring themselves into the news through eBay. From auctioning off charitable items by online casinos to auctioning off oneself for sponsorship for tournaments, it seems that the two worlds of gambling and purchasing have found common ground. If you aren't new to the internet, and I think I can assume that few of you are, then you have most definitely at least visited eBay once to see what all the hype is about.
The online auction site is a great place to find and sell basically everything that you can think of. For example, lets say you were looking for the old children cartoon, the Animaniacs, soundtrack; it is almost guaranteed that you would find at least one person on this big semi-green earth that would have this item in their possession. Are you an online casino who is just starting out? How about bringing yourself into the news by finding that one guy who is offering to bring your name into a poker tournament for the mere entrance fee? With eBay and the online casino it seems that the opportunities are endless.
However, as with everything in life, eBay does cause some conflict for the online casino. If you recall, one online casino was trying to auction off a $100,000 bankroll to any online casino fan for a fraction of the price. This auction never went through though, as eBay quickly shut it down claiming that the online casino was promoting illegal activities in the US. Instead, the online casino auctioned off an all inclusive trip to Las Vegas for the highest bidder. In essence, the same effect was achieved, as one person won a trip of a lifetime, while another business received the media attention it was seeking.
