Last time you played at an online casino did you ever wonder what it would feel like to take you knowledge into a land-based tournament and try to win big? Well, this dream came true for one college student, who just recently started playing at the online casino and had a bought of luck. A student won a $1 million prize after gambling for a week in the Bahamas. Canadian student was new to the world of the online casino when he decided to enter a poker tournament in the Bahamas. Steve Paul-Ambrose is a 22 year old from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada, had no idea how lucky he would strike it when he entered a poker tournament which was held in the Bahamas over his winter break. He managed to come out on top in the gambling contest, taking the first prize of $1.3-million.
Ambrose managed to outlast more than 700 other poker contestants in the third annual poker tournament in the Bahamas Atlantis Casino Resort on Paradise Island. The poker tournament is based on the popular online casino game of Texas Hold’em in which players get two cards they must use along with five other cards dealt on the table, as community cards, to come up with the best hand. Ambrose, who admits that he is not a regular gambler, and has only played at online casinos for a little while, managed to score tops in this contest for reasons he is still unsure of.
The gambling entrance fee was $8000, but Ambrose who managed to receive discounts from some online casino sites, only ended up paying $102 to participate. These discounts were achieved by filling in various competitions and coupons on participating online casinos. This fact makes Ambrose’s victory even more amazing – that from as little as $100 the student managed to win so much money back. Let us just say that Ambrose will not leave college with student debts. And it is almost guaranteed that he will be playing at the online casino a bit more often than you used to.
