Sports Betting Site Thinks Gambling Ban Unlikely
CEO of Bet On Sports, a sports betting site, has said in a recent interview that he does not see how the US legislative attempt to totally ban online casinos and sports betting will work. Instead he thinks that the United States will eventually follow the lead of other Western countries and will legalize and regulate online sports betting and online gambling within 2-3 years.

Bet On Sports, which offers sports betting and online casino gambling through its website, has a very strong client base in the United States. If the bill would go through to ban credit card and other electronic payment forms for sports betting and online gambling, then the sports betting site could see a large section of its customer base grappling to find ways to place bets. The CEO, however, continued to say that he would be very, very surprised if sports betting and online casino banning bill would pass.

There have been previous attempts by lawmakers to pass such bans and all of the previous legislative attempts to quell the ever-growing wave of online casinos and sports betting have failed. Although the U.S. Justice Department says that a 1961 law that forbids interstate telephone betting also applies to the internet, Americans already partake in sports betting and online gambling through several offshore websites. American gamblers represents about 45 percent of the total online gaming market, which is projected to grow to about $22 billion in the next four years from a current figure of $12 billion.
